Replay Value

Human: Fall Flat is an indie adventure game where you play as a funny little man to solve physical puzzles and explore the environment to escape surreal dreams. You can download Human: Fall Flat and play it on different platforms.

Visuals 4/5

You can plunge into any level as in a separate game. All 10 locations available at the time of writing the review suggest massive replayability and allow you to explore the area with interest for hours.

The levels differ not only in design but also in detail - the further you advance, the better and more detailed the surrounding world will be. The puzzles' appearance also changes: for example, Castle inspires you to explore a medieval fortress in search of an exit, while Demolition will lead the player through a construction site and allow you to break more than one wall.

Gameplay & Characters 5/5

Human: Fall Flat is a physics-based puzzle game where the player controls a character named Bob. The whole game is a series of Bob's dreams. Each dream must be completed by solving puzzles and overcoming obstacles. In the arsenal, Bob has only himself: his body and arms.

Bob resembles a plasticine man in the hands of the players - he can bend at almost any angle. The controls in Human: Fall Flat are modest: in addition to the usual walking and jumping, the character can extend his left or right hand (left and right mouse buttons or gamepad bumpers, respectively, depending on what to play). The outstretched arm will hook onto the first affected object. If it is a small item, like a box or a stone, Bob will pick it up.

Human: Fall Flat is as logical as possible, there seems to be nothing supernatural in it, but it pushes for improvisation. And this is a smart idea of the guys from No Brakes Games. First, they lead us through the rooms, showing exactly how to play their game, and then they begin to throw us on large maps, where there is a little more space, but the goal is still the same - to find a way out. The puzzles are all intuitive.

Compatibility 5/5

The game is available for platforms such as Xbox One, Linux, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PC, and PS4. There are also versions for Android and iOS mobile devices. In addition to all the features, multiplayer for eight players is available on mobile devices. It allows players to navigate obstacles together. Well, or interfere with each other.

Realistic Physics and Fascinating Puzzles

Human: Fall Flat goes even further and offers a whole world of dreams, from which the main character Bob, must get out, along the way, using objects and surrounding objects. The game does not amaze with the picture, but the convex cartoon drawing gives it a certain charm. The developers of No Brakes Games managed to create a funny sandbox, inside which goals are achieved in different ways. The sensations during the passage are quite amusing. It is delightful to apply knowledge from physics in practice, using inertia, sliding, centrifugal and centripetal forces, and convection.

Cons:

  • The control is not the most convenient;
  • Some levels are extremely complicated.

Pros:

  • Realistic physics;
  • Exciting puzzles;
  • A large world to explore.
